Can your machine run that AI model? It comes down to capacity, the fast memory your GPU can reach. On Windows that's VRAM on your graphics card; on Mac and some Linux devices like DGX Spark, it's unified memory shared with the system.
This sets a hard limit: a 16GB card can't run a 17GB model. It either fits in memory or it doesn't, and if the whole model doesn't fit, it technically still runs but crawls.
Capacity is the first number to check before anything else.
